Electrical Tape contains toxic chemicals & should be used with caution. In addition, it has been shown & proven to destroy the surface of mice!
Disclaimer: This video is not meant to fear monger or mislead anyone. The purpose of this video is to educate viewers and fellow drag clickers on the science of the possible dangers of electrical tape and the appropriate precautions that can be taken to minimize risk when utilizing it on your mouse.
Most famous drag clickers use tape, often a form of electrical tape as their preferred choice, to achieve insanely consistent drag clicks and cps. Tape can be very useful for dragclicking; however, there are two problems with using (specifically electrical tape) on your mouse. The number one problem is that electrical tape (even if umarked) most likely contains harsher chemicals (including high levels of BPA). These chemicals, if exposed to for long periods of time, can build up and cause potential harm down the line. Therefore, its important for people to wash their hands after coming in contact with their dragclicking mice to minimize risk. Most likely no one is significantly impacted from the chemicals in this tape, but that does not mean that you shouldn’t take a few precautions for the sake of it!
Problem #2 with electrical tape: Electrical tape can actually ruin the surface of your mouse and can make it nearly impossible to dragclick! A few people who tried it on their new Bloody A70 mice could not dragclick on them anymore (without tape) because the electrical dragclicking tape coats the surface of the mouse with oils and glue. These oils and glues most likely can’t be removed completely! Simply removing the natural buildup of body oils is hard enough! Let alone strong electric glue for wires and long term adherence. Just be mindful… once you put on tape the only solution is more tape if thats how you rock!
All in all, whether or not you choose to you tape or not is up to you! Personally… if you have a Bloody Abedless, specifically, I would NOT recommend tape on that mouse only!
